You may also work the register, answer the phone, and help to keep our store organized. Mostly, you will ensure our customers feel well cared for and that they get the right products. We are especially looking for someone with experience in plumbing and electrical. Our associates are at the center of our customer experience and our customers are the most important part of our business. It will be your job to ensure that every interaction with our customers leaves them wanting to come back to solve their next problem. Responsibilities may include Working the cash register and processing POS (point of sale) purchases Answering customer questions regarding hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint, garden, and housewares "Going the extra mile" to drive sales Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas Actively seeking out customers in store Remaining knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options Cross-sell products Helping your team ensure proper customer service Build productive trust relationships with customers Skills Work experience as a Retail Sales associate or similar role Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, paint, or garden Proficiency in English Basic Math skills Hands-on experience with POS transactions Solid communication and interpersonal skills A friendly and energetic personality with a focus on customer service Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner Availability to work flexible shifts
