Job Description
Our client a premier event and gaming destination in Southern Oregon is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Sales Manager to grow group, convention, and event business for its destination resort and 25,000-square-foot convention center. This is an opportunity to build a true outbound sales engine. The resort's current business has been predominantly reactive; the successful candidate will bring a hunter mentality, an established understanding of the Pacific Northwest market, and the discipline to identify, pursue and convert new business. This is not a traditional five-day-a-week, on-property hotel sales role. A full-time Sales Coordinator is based at the resort to support the sales function, allowing the Sales Manager to spend meaningful time in-market developing relationships and generating demand. An exceptional candidate may work remotely from anywhere in the Pacific Northwest through the northern tip of California, provided they know the Pacific Northwest meetings and group-sales market and can travel to the resort as business needs require. What You'll Sell
- 25,000 square feet of flexible, contiguous meeting and event space.
- Group guestrooms, banquet facilities & resort experiences for corporate meetings, associations, trade shows, & social groups. What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated hotel, resort, convention, destination or group-sales experience; at least two years of relevant conference or hotel sales experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of the Pacific Northwest meetings, conventions and group-sales market is essential.
- A proactive hunter who is comfortable building a territory, creating target-account lists, making outbound calls and opening new relationships.
- Existing relationships with corporate, association, meeting-planner, third-party or group accounts in the Pacific Northwest are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to sell meeting space, guestrooms, banquet/event business or comparable hospitality products.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote/market-based environment while remaining closely connected to the on-property team.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
