The Washington State Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign is seeking a Field Organizer for Congressional District 2 to join our 2026 campaign. With multiple targeted congressional and legislative races across the state, our Field Organizers will be critical to the success of midterm elections in 2026. This position will report to our North Central Regional Field Director. This job is a full-time, campaign cycle position and is part of a collective bargaining unit. Evening and weekend work will be required, particularly as we get closer to the 2026 General Election. This position would be responsible for organizing across northern Congressional District 2, and specifically in Legislative Districts 39, 40, and 42. CD 2 is a geographically expansive district that encompasses communities like Sedro-Wooley, Bellingham, Ferndale, and Blaine. This is a field-intensive position focused primarily on directly contacting voters through door-to-door canvassing and voter phone calls. Applicants must reside within or nearby CD 2, or be willing to relocate before their start date. Because this position requires frequent travel throughout a large and relatively rural organizing region, applicants must have regular access to a reliable vehicle and be able to drive throughout the district. November 15, 2026 Field Organizers are responsible for executing a high-volume direct voter contact program in their assigned turf, with a particular focus on door-to-door canvassing and voter phone calls. Unwavering commitment to winning Democratic majorities at all levels in Washington state and a demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party. Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a diverse staff, activists, allies, and stakeholders. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and consistently meet ambitious quantitative goals and deadlines. Comfort spending significant portions of the workweek in the field, including canvassing outdoors, driving between communities, and directly engaging voters. Experience in political organizing, canvassing, voter contact, customer service, sales, or another public-facing role preferred. Past political organizing experience as a fellow or volunteer preferred. Familiarity with VoteBuilder/VAN and MiniVAN is a bonus. Ability to adapt to evolving priorities. Comfortable working in a highly metrics- and deadline-driven environment and being held accountable to weekly voter contact goals. Ability to work evening and weekend hours. Comfortable speaking directly with voters both at the doors and over the phone. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A friendly and professional demeanor. Own and execute direct voter contact within assigned turf, with a primary focus on personally knocking doors and making phone calls to targeted voters. Consistently meet ambitious weekly direct voter contact goals, including individual door-knocking and voter phone-call goals. Spend significant time traveling throughout assigned communities to conduct voter contact, including in rural and geographically dispersed areas. Use campaign tools including VoteBuilder/VAN, MiniVAN, and campaign dialer systems to accurately complete and track voter contact. Have persuasive, respectful conversations with voters about the candidates and issues on the 2026 ballot and accurately record voter responses and contact results. Support targeted 2026 candidates by executing direct voter contact programs and assisting with canvasses, phonebanks, and other voter contact activities as needed. Support volunteers participating in direct voter contact activities as needed, including helping volunteers get set up to canvass or make calls. This position will work alongside volunteers, but volunteer recruitment and management will not be its primary responsibility. Develop and maintain productive relationships with local party leaders, campaigns, and partner organizations to coordinate voter contact efforts across the region. Work to create a professional staff culture that is upbeat and empowering, with a mind toward greater inclusion, a customer-service attitude, and a willingness to solve problems creatively. Consistently meet deadlines and proactively communicate with your direct supervisor when challenges arise that may prevent you from meeting your goals. Creatively problem-solve around challenges related to voter contact goals, geography, scheduling, and campaign tactics. Other duties as required. The wage for this position is $24 per hour, with overtime paid at 1 ½ times the hourly rate after 40 hours. A typical week will be scheduled for 50 hours, with more overtime available during the GOTV window leading up to the General Election in November.
