JOB SUMMARY
As a Parts Counter Consultant for our auto dealership, you will be the frontline representative of the parts department, assisting both internal and external customers with their parts needs. Your role involves providing excellent customer service, processing parts transactions, and ensuring the efficient operation of the parts counter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Customer Interaction:
Greet customers at the parts counter in a courteous and professional manner. Assist customers with parts inquiries, identifying the correct parts for their needs. 2.
Order Processing:
Process parts orders accurately and efficiently. Utilize parts catalogs, electronic systems, and other resources to locate and order the correct parts. 3.
Parts Sales:
Promote and upsell additional parts and accessories to customers. Provide recommendations based on customer needs and vehicle specifications. 4.
Technical Assistance:
Provide basic technical assistance to customers, answering questions about part compatibility and installation. Collaborate with service advisors and technicians for more complex technical inquiries. 5.
Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining organized and clean parts display and storage areas. Monitor and report inventory levels to the Parts Manager. 6.
Customer Service:
Address customer concerns and inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and order status. Keep customers informed about the status of their parts orders. 7.
Documentation:
Complete and maintain accurate records of parts transactions. Assist in maintaining documentation related to warranties and returns. 8.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other parts department staff to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with the Parts Manager, service advisors, and technicians. 9.
Product Knowledge:
▪ Stay informed about the latest automotive parts, accessories, and technologies. ▪Attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in automotive parts sales or a related customer service role is preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Basic technical knowledge of automotive parts and systems. Familiarity with parts catalogs and electronic parts lookup systems.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work primarily at the parts counter within the dealership. Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
