We are seeking a professional, motivated, and customer-focused Leasing Agent to join our team at an affordable housing/tax credit community. The Leasing Agent will be responsible for leasing apartments, assisting prospective and current residents, maintaining accurate applicant files, and ensuring compliance with applicable affordable housing and tax credit program requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with residents from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Greet and professionally assist prospective and current residents. Conduct property tours and effectively explain apartment features, amenities, policies, and community programs. Process rental applications and required documentation. Verify applicant income, assets, household composition, and other eligibility requirements. Maintain accurate and complete resident and applicant files. Ensure leasing activities comply with LIHTC/tax credit and affordable housing regulations . Follow established screening, eligibility, certification, and recertification procedures. Prepare and execute leases and related documentation. Maintain accurate availability and leasing records. Respond promptly to resident questions, concerns, and requests. Follow up with prospects and maintain strong occupancy and leasing performance. Assist with annual recertifications and other compliance-related documentation as needed. Coordinate with property management and maintenance teams to provide excellent resident service. Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized leasing office. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous leasing, property management, or affordable housing experience preferred. LIHTC/tax credit experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of affordable housing programs and compliance requirements is a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Comfortable using computers, email, and property management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Professional appearance and positive attitude. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
