About Us PA Auction Center is a growing auction company specializing in antiques, collectibles, firearms, sporting goods, equipment, and estate assets. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a strong knowledge of firearms and sporting goods to research, photograph, describe, and catalog items for auction. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys firearms, hunting, outdoor sports, collecting, and research, and who takes pride in accurate descriptions and attention to detail. Position Summary The Sporting Goods & Firearms Cataloger is responsible for identifying, researching, and cataloging firearms, ammunition-related accessories, hunting and fishing equipment, sporting goods, and related collectibles for online and live auctions. The successful candidate will help ensure auction listings are accurate and informative. The role also includes involvement in monthly online sporting goods auctions and maintaining a professional and customer-friendly experience. Responsibilities Identify, inspect, and evaluate firearms, sporting goods, and related accessories Research manufacturers, models, calibers, production dates, and notable features Write clear, accurate, and compelling catalog descriptions Record serial numbers and other identifying information accurately Organize and track inventory throughout the cataloging process Handle firearms safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws Assist with monthly auction on the third Saturday of every month , including setup, lot organization, and customer service as needed Conduct firearms background checks for customers Preferred Experience Knowledge of firearms, ammunition accessories, hunting equipment, fishing equipment, or sporting goods Experience collecting, buying, selling, or working with firearms Familiarity with firearm manufacturers, models, calibers, and values Experience researching collectibles and determining market value Auction, sporting goods, and/or firearms industry experience is a plus Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Comfortable using computers and learning new software Strong written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift and move auction items when necessary Requirements Must be legally eligible to handle firearms Must pass any required background checks Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work on-site in
