Position Purpose Assists the Starbucks Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Starbucks department, including customer service, beverage quality, merchandising, inventory control, food safety, labor management, and associate development. Supports the achievement of sales and operational goals while ensuring an outstanding customer experience consistent with company and Starbucks standards. Assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Starbucks Manager. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Assist in supervising, training, coaching, and developing Starbucks associates. Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, customer service, and operational excellence. Assist with scheduling and labor planning to meet department needs. Monitor associate performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Serve as acting department manager in the absence of the Starbucks Manager. Customer Service Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure customer concerns are resolved promptly and professionally. Promote a welcoming and engaging environment for customers. Ensure associates provide friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service. Support initiatives that increase customer loyalty and satisfaction. Operations & Beverage Quality Assist in overseeing beverage preparation and food service operations. Ensure all products are prepared according to Starbucks and company standards. Maintain consistent quality, freshness, and presentation of beverages and food items. Monitor order accuracy and service speed to meet customer expectations. Merchandising & Sales Assist with execution of promotional programs, seasonal offerings, and merchandising initiatives. Maintain attractive displays and properly stocked sales areas. Ensure pricing, signage, and promotional materials are current and accurate. Monitor sales performance and assist in implementing strategies to increase revenue. Food Safety & Sanitation Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls are followed. Conduct routine department inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety standards. Promote a culture of food safety and operational compliance. Inventory & Financial Management Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management. Monitor inventory levels to maintain product availability while minimizing waste. Support achievement of department sales, labor, and profitability goals. Assist with cost control efforts and shrink reduction initiatives. Compliance & Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with all company policies, Starbucks operating standards, and regulatory requirements. Assist with department audits and corrective action plans. Support implementation of company and Starbucks programs and initiatives. Maintain accurate operational records and required documentation.
