Job Description

Job Summary Atlantic Stoneworks is seeking an Interior Design & Sales Consultant to help customers bring their kitchen, bathroom, and other home-improvement projects to life. This is a customer-facing design and sales position with a particular emphasis on cabinet and countertop sales, product selection, and creating an exceptional showroom experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with customers, has an eye for design, and is comfortable turning a customer's ideas into a coordinated project. This person will meet with customers to understand their needs, style, budget, and vision; assist with cabinet layouts and selections; help coordinate cabinet styles, colors, countertops, hardware, and other finishes; and guide customers through the decision-making and purchasing process. While design and sales are the primary focus, this position also plays an important role in the overall customer experience. The consultant will often be one of the first people a customer meets when entering our showroom or contacting Atlantic Stoneworks. Every interaction should make the customer feel welcomed, understood, and confident that they have found the right company to handle their project. The position also incorporates the essential front-office and administrative responsibilities necessary to keep the showroom and customer experience running smoothly. These responsibilities include answering phones, greeting customers, entering and maintaining leads, scheduling consultations and appointments, maintaining customer records, assisting with correspondence and documentation, organizing showroom materials and samples, and providing administrative support to the sales and management teams. Primary Areas of Responsibility 1. Design, Cabinet & Countertop Sales Meet with customers to understand their project goals, design preferences, functional needs, timeline, and budget. Help customers coordinate cabinets with countertops, backsplashes, flooring, paint colors, hardware, and other design elements. Assist customers with granite, quartz, solid-surface, and other countertop selections. Develop the product knowledge necessary to confidently explain cabinet and countertop options, features, benefits, and price differences. Work with customers and other team members to develop layouts, designs, measurements, and project specifications. Prepare or assist with cabinet and countertop quotes as training and experience allow. Present proposals and pricing to customers and confidently ask for the sale. Follow up on open cabinet and countertop quotes according to the company's established sales process. Maintain accurate records of customer selections, changes, quotes, and communications. Identify opportunities to provide customers with a complete Atlantic Stoneworks solution, includingcabinets, countertops, hardware, and installation. Build lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business, referrals, and positive reviews. 2. Customer Experience & Showroom Consultation Create a welcoming, professional, design-focused showroom experience. Greet showroom customers and actively engage them in conversation about their project rather than simply directing them to another employee. Conduct an initial discovery conversation to determine what the customer is trying to accomplish. Help customers who may feel overwhelmed by the number of design choices narrow their options and make confident decisions. Educate customers about the overall cabinet and countertop process, including design, measurement, ordering, fabrication, scheduling, and installation. Coordinate showroom consultations and in-home appointments when appropriate. Maintain professional and timely communication throughout the sales process. Ensure customer questions and concerns are addressed or routed to the appropriate team member. Maintain an organized and attractive showroom with current cabinet samples, door styles, hardware, countertop samples, literature, and other design resources. Continually develop knowledge of current kitchen, bath, cabinet, countertop, and interior-design trends. 3. Front Office & Administrative Coordination Answer and appropriately route incoming telephone calls, emails, website inquiries, and other customer communications. Greet and assist customers entering the showroom. Enter new leads and maintain accurate customer and project information in company systems. Ensure each lead includes complete contact information, project information, and how the customer heard about Atlantic Stoneworks. Schedule and confirm consultations, measurements, appointments, and other customer activities. Maintain calendars and communicate scheduling information to customers and appropriate team members. Assist with customer paperwork, documentation, payments, receipts, and correspondence as assigned. Maintain organized electronic and physical customer records. Help ensure open leads and customer requests do not fall through communication gaps. Perform other front-office and administrative duties necessary to support the customer experience and efficient operation of the showroom. The Role in One Sentence The Interior Design & Sales Consultant helps customers turn their ideas into beautiful, functional spaces by guiding them through design, product selection, and the purchasing process, while also ensuring an exceptional showroom experience and supporting the front-office functions that keep everything running smoothly.
