Immediately Job Description Mooresville High School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and collaborative School Counselor to join our school community. The School Counselor will support students' academic, career, social, and emotional development while working closely with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping every student reach their full potential and embrace MHS's commitment to being ALL IN.
The School Counselor will:
Provide individual and small-group counseling services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and career development. Develop meaningful relationships with students and serve as a trusted advocate and resource. Assist students with course selection, academic planning, graduation requirements, and postsecondary planning. Monitor student progress toward graduation and identify students who may need additional academic or social-emotional support. Support the development and implementation of student schedules. Assist with enrollment, withdrawals, transfers, and other student registration processes. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to address student needs. Provide information and guidance regarding college, career, scholarships, financial aid, CCP, and other postsecondary opportunities. Assist students and families in accessing school and community resources. Participate in student support meetings, MTSS processes, intervention planning, and other school-based teams. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Respond appropriately to student crises and make referrals to appropriate school or community resources when necessary. Assist with registration, graduation activities, and other school-wide initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound professional judgment when working with sensitive student information. Participate in professional development and contribute positively to the school culture. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
