Principal Responsibilities:
The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing programs that support the social integration and acculturation of individuals with special needs. This role involves planning activities, fostering relationships with partner agencies, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants. Design, plan, and facilitate engaging social, educational, and recreational programs for adults with special needs, including recurring and special events Build and maintain relationships with participants, families, caregivers, and partner agencies, and represent the program within the community Provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment through high-quality customer service and professional conflict resolution Manage scheduling, registration, event coordination, and communication with families, group homes, and agencies; comply with CT State Mandated Reporter requirements Collaborate with colleagues and external partners, and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities Current programs include music thearpy, fitness, pottery, yoga, healthy snacks, bingo, virtual programs and annual Fashion Show.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred; at least one year of experience in a related field.
Experience:
Minimum one year of experience in a related field.
Licensure:
CPR, First Aid preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to effectively engage with adults with special needs and their families Exceptional customer service and conflict-resolution skills Strong multitasking abilities, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Physical & Mental Demands:
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing or sitting for extended periods Current position averages less than 10 hours/week.
