Position Summary :
Provides personalized care service, support and supervision to residents. Uphold the philosophy of Island City Assisted Living and promote the life enrichment goals of residents. Provide assistance and support with residen activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provides quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with Island City Assisted Living's mission and values. Follows the service plan in providing services to the resident Answers resident response system to determine residents needs and responds accordingly Assists residents in the activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility Assists resident with oxygen, ostomies, and other medical problems as outline in the service plan Assess and documents resident activities of daily living Transports residents or assists resident in walking Notifies the Team Leader to report a change or concern in resident condition Conducts rounds to assigned areas per protocol Immediately reports any suspected resident abuse to supervisor Responds to resident emergencies, provides first aid assistance Promotes resident safety principles at all times Monitors and demonstrates an understanding of the health, safety, and well-being of the residents including the emotional, social and mental health needs Encourages socialization among residents Assists with the activity program, conducts activities as directed by the Activity Director Encourages and/or reminds residents to participate in activities and assists resident to and from activities in a timely manner always promoting the activity with enthusiasm to obtain resident interest Maintains confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations, and personnel Promotes Island City Assisted Living in a positive manner Promote teamwork in providing services to the residents Demonstrates ethical behaviors to promote resident rights Practices safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tool, and utensils Effectively communicates information pertaining to residents on a "need to know" basis
Knowledge and Experience:

Working Conditions:
Heated/Air-Conditioned, well-lit facility with minimal barriers Holiday and weekend work required Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 35 pounds, using property body mechanics and/or available equipment Bending/and/or kneeling up to 15 minutes performing resident care tasks Standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down for up to 6 hours Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, communicable diseases, fumes or airborne particles
