Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, helping clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure each client receives the highest quality of care in a warm, respectful environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene. Support patients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to identify any changes or concerns promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Administer medications accurately following care plans and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment. Support clients during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance when needed. Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and infection control procedures to ensure client safety at all times. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet each resident's unique needs. Qualifications Proven experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Familiarity with care equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods; manual handling skills required. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications related to hospice care or home health are a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
