CNA Full Job Description In-Home Caregiver:
Chapel Hill, NC Description We are a small, locally owned home care agency serving Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and the surrounding Triangle communities — and we are hiring our founding group of caregivers. Pay & Schedule
  • $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and certification
  • Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate for travel between clients
  • Paid orientation and paid training
  • 10-20 hours per week to start, with hours growing as our client base grows
  • Consistent client assignments — you will get to know the same people, not a new address every shift
  • Flexible scheduling built around your availability, including school-hours, evening, and weekend options What Makes Us Different Our Cared-4 program is built on a simple idea: caring for the whole person works better than working through a checklist.
Our caregivers get to know our clients: what they love doing, who their family is, and what makes a good day. You will support nutrition and hydration, emotional well-being and social connection, safety at home, and physical care, because those things are connected. Home Helpers feels strongly about supporting caregivers. Caregiving is unpredictable and you will have that support during business hours and outside them. Since we are new to the community, our first caregivers will help us grow and build our reputation. As our client base expands, we will need senior caregivers and mentors — and we intend to fill those roles from within. What You Will Do
  • Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
  • Assist with walking, transfers, mobility, and exercises in the care plan
  • Prepare meals and help with eating when needed
  • Light housekeeping and laundry to keep the home safe and comfortable
  • Remind clients to take their medications (you will never administer them)
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and genuine presence
  • Notice changes in how a client is doing and tell us about them
  • Document the care you provide What We Are Looking For
  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance
  • Able to follow a care plan and document what you did
  • Patient, dependable, and genuinely kind — this matters more to us than a certificate
  • Willing to complete a background check, TB screening, and health clearance
  • Comfortable working independently in someone's home CNA certification is welcome and will move you toward the top of the pay range, but it is not required. We will train the right person. Prior caregiving experience — including caring for your own family member — absolutely counts. Our Hiring Process
  • If you meet our initial requirements, we will request a short phone conversation, usually 10-15 minutes
  • The second phase is an in-person group hiring session held in the Durham area, where you will meet the owner and our Registered Nurse
  • Background check, references, and hiring paperwork will be completed if hired
  • Paid orientation, then your first client Please note the in-person session is held in Durham, roughly 20 minutes from Chapel Hill.
We schedule these on set dates rather than one at a time, so you will know your date in advance. Home Helpers Home Care of Durham & Chapel Hill is an equal opportunity employer.
