Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, patient monitoring, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal presentation to ensure proper nutrition. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Support residents with cognitive impairments by providing Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and engaging in meaningful activities. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and ensuring adherence to infection control standards. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities support, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks as needed. Demonstrated compassion for geriatrics, hospice care, or long-term care environments; familiarity with dementia care and memory support is beneficial.
