HAVEN is a catalyst for individual empowerment and societal change: advocating for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking and working to end gender-based violence. HAVEN has been serving adults and children affected by domestic and sexual violence for over 40 years. At HAVEN, we use a trauma-informed, client- centered service model, which focuses on the client setting the direction, establishing their own goals and objectives, and being empowered to make their decisions. This position IS NOT subject to mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse because 1) This position provides services to adults only and so is not subject to mandated reporting underCANRA OR 2
) This position does not present in schools as part of a child abuse prevention program. Such a report, including sharing identifying information with a mandated reporter position at HAVEN, without following "release of confidential information" policies is a breach of confidentiality and can result in termination.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery Primarily stationed at the Turlock Administrative office Receive referrals and complete assessments for transitional housing applicants Provide mobile advocacy for participants when appropriate Assist client in their search for housing; ongoing case management Advocate on behalf of clients to landlords and property owners Advocate on behalf of clients to other agencies with housing resources Provide voluntary supportive services to assist transitional participants in obtaining or maintaining permanent housing, including Legal advocacy, including TRO preparation and court preparation/accompaniment Present financial empowerment curriculum in individual and/or group settings Crisis intervention, safety planning and referrals to appropriate community resources Provide advocacy, support, and/or accompaniment to outside agencies when appropriate. Maintain accurate accounting of all client financial assistance provided Provide supportive services as needed fpr residents upon completion of the transitional program General Develop relationships with housing and other service providers to expand permanent housing options for domestic violence survivors Represent Haven in community meetings and events in Turlock and Modesto as needed. Conduct presentations regarding Haven services as needed Maintain clear and well organized client files and documented all statistical data Attend staff meetings and training as requiredMINIMUM / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual:
Preferred but not required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Effective problem solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and internet use Ability to provide services to and work with diverse populations Ability to organize and prioritize work and be able to work independently Valid driver's license and proof of insurance •Does not require prior legal experience or trainingPAY RATE
$19.42 + $1.50 if bilingualHOURS/SCHEDULE
Temporary 40 per week / Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm.BENEFITS

Position requires maintaining California Driver's license, reliable transportation, ongoing proof of car insurance, and agreeing to annual DMV check as part of agency insurance renewal. Failure to maintain driving record consistent with agency insurance requirements will make person ineligible for this position.WORK LOCATION
Primary work location: Turlock. The position is eligible for teleworking options. Telework may be granted on a department-need basis after an employee has successfully completed their probationary period.
