Responsibilities:
Agency Outreach Under the direction of the CAC Program Director of Family Support Line Children's Advocacy Center (FSLCAC), develops and maintains collaborative relationships with law enforcement, child welfare, the District Attorney's Office, medical providers, mental health providers, and other multidisciplinary partners to promote victim-centered services and access to the FSLCAC. Assists with outreach and education to child abuse victims, non-offending caregivers, community partners, and referral sources to increase awareness of FSLCAC services and resources. Collaborate with multidisciplinary and community partners to strengthen services, improve communication, and support coordinated, child-centered care for children and families served by the FSLCAC. Direct Services Meets with non-offending caregivers during forensic interviews conducted at the FSLCAC Welcomes and orients children, non-offending caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to the FSLCAC. Provides crisis intervention, emotional support, advocacy, and psychoeducation to non-offending caregivers throughout the lifespan of the case. Educates non-offending caregivers on the dynamics and impact of child abuse and strategies to support their child throughout the healing process. Assists families in navigating the child welfare, criminal justice, medical, and mental health systems, ensuring they understand the process and know what to expect. Serves as a liaison between families and MDT partners, advocating for victims and promoting communication and coordinated, child-centered care. Connects families with medical, mental health, victim advocacy, legal, and community resources to address identified needs and reduce barriers to services. Provides ongoing case management, follow-up, and support to help families remain engaged with recommended services and resources. Maintains accurate case documentation, opens cases, coordinates scheduling, and completes all required documentation in a timely manner. Program Outreach and Administration Assists with case tracking and data collection to ensure accurate, timely, and accessible records for the FSLCAC and multidisciplinary partners. Participates in community outreach, educational programs, public presentations, and professional training related to child abuse and services for children and non-offending caregivers. Assists in the development of educational materials and program resources to support outreach, training, and public awareness. Assists with client satisfaction and program evaluation activities to support continuous quality improvement. Internal Agency Administration Meets regularly with the CAC Program Director to receive supervision, support, direction, and performance feedback. Communicates and collaborates with agency staff and MDT partners to support the mission and effectiveness of Family Support Line and the FSLCAC. Participate in monthly case review meetings. Adheres to all agency policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Participates in staff meetings, agency committees, and other meetings as assigned. Completes all required documentation, reports, and administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Supports and participates in agency initiatives, special events, and staff development activities as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Staff Development Seeks and participates in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and the delivery of trauma-informed, victim-centered services. Stays current on best practices, community resources, and emerging trends related to child abuse, victim advocacy, and multidisciplinary response. Stays informed of changes in laws, policies, and procedures affecting child abuse victims and their families.
Qualifications:
Commitment to Family Support Line mission and philosophy. Commitment to the Family Support Line mission and philosophy. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminology, human services, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 2-3 years of experience in victim advocacy, social work, child welfare, or a related field preferred. Bilingual is a plus. Knowledge of the child welfare and criminal justice systems. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices for serving child abuse and other crime victims. Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain timely, accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Successful completion of an NCA-approved Family Advocacy training or the ability to complete the training upon hire. Seeks and participates in ongoing professional development, including local and out-of-state trainings as required. Consistent and reliable access to transportation. Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate forensic interview scheduling and occasional evening or weekend work. Meet all required clearances for employment (e.g., IRCA, Criminal Record Check, etc.).
