Peer Support Worker (Uplifting Moms Peer Support Person)

Healthy Start - Social Services Position Summary Family Village, a program of The Foundation for Delaware County, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Worker (Independent Contractor) to provide one-on-one emotional support to participants and families enrolled in Family Village's home visitation and case management programs. Working in coordination with the Healthy Start Social Services team, the Peer Support Worker serves as a trusted source of encouragement, support, and resource navigation. Through relationship- building, active listening, and shared understanding, this role helps participants strengthen coping skills, increase engagement in services, and work toward personal and family goals.

Hybrid; morning and evening availability required

Compensation Rate:

$20.00 per hour Scope of Work The Peer Support Worker will: Provide one-on-one emotional support to participants and families Foster hope, build trust, and empower participants to achieve personal and family goals Provide education and resources on perinatal mental health, as needed Offer services via phone, in-office, virtual, and home visits Assist in facilitating group sessions as the program expands Support participants in developing coping and self-help strategies Model effective communication and problem-solving skills Connect participants with community resources and professional services Encourage engagement in Family Village programs and services Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided Coordinate with case managers, nurses, and program staff Qualifications High school diploma preferred; or 3-5 years of related experience Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to listen, connect, and respond to participants' experiences Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations Experience collaborating in a team-based or multidisciplinary setting Basic computer, typing, and data entry skills (Microsoft Office proficiency)

Required:

CPR certification PA child abuse clearances (Act 33) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Independent Contractor Relationship This role is a contract-for-services opportunity and does not constitute employment.
