In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs and treatment planning. Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and art therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes, including managing behavioral crises and providing trauma-informed care. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and ethical guidelines to promote recovery and resilience. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation, progress notes, treatment updates, and compliance with medical records regulations. Engage in case management activities such as coordinating care with other providers, facilitating referrals for specialized services like addiction counseling or special education support. Participate in ongoing clinical research and data collection efforts to enhance evidence-based practices within the organization. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential with demonstrated experience in psychotherapy and mental health counseling. Proven expertise in child & family counseling, pediatric mental health, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Strong skills in crisis management, trauma-informed care—including PTSD care—and behavior management techniques. Experience working with co-occurring disorders, substance abuse treatment, and addiction counseling preferred. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards is essential. Knowledge of telehealth therapy platforms and experience delivering services via telehealth is highly desirable. Ability to conduct mental health assessments using evidence-based practices while adhering to HIPAA privacy laws and clinical ethical guidelines. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient settings. Background working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, gender issues counseling, and individuals with disabilities or chronic pain conditions is advantageous.
