Mental Health Therapist/Counselor Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care and support to individuals dealing with various mental health challenges. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients to improve their overall well-being.Responsibilities:
- Conduct direct support and counseling sessions with clients to address their mental health needs
- Offer grief counseling and support to individuals experiencing loss or trauma
- Provide specialized care for geriatric clients facing mental health issues
- Implement behavior management techniques to assist clients in coping with emotional difficulties
- Utilize coding, DSM 5 and ICD-9 knowledge for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Conduct mental health counseling sessions using evidence-based practices
- Engage in research activities to enhance therapeutic interventions and treatment outcomes
- Perform data collection and analysis to monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individuals with developmental disabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Prefered Licensure as a Mental Health Therapist in the state of practice
- Proven experience in providing mental health therapy services
- Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and interventions
- Familiarity with DSM-5 , ICD-9, and data collection practices
- Ability to work effectively with individuals across diverse populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards clients' needs
