Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Specialist to join our behavioral health team. The Support Specialist will play a vital role in providing crisis intervention, mental health counseling, and social support to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting clients through various stages of recovery and stabilization, utilizing evidence-based practices and maintaining accurate records through EHR systems. Duties Provide immediate crisis intervention and management to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral crises. Conduct assessments and develop individualized support plans in collaboration with clients. Offer behavioral health counseling, including motivational interviewing and addiction counseling techniques. Serve as a mentor and advocate for clients, promoting engagement and recovery. Utilize EHR systems to document client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and confidentially. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support services. Facilitate group sessions or educational workshops focused on mental health awareness and coping strategies. Maintain a safe, supportive environment that encourages client engagement and trust. Requirements Proven experience or training in crisis intervention, crisis management, or behavioral health settings. Knowledge of mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work principles, and motivational interviewing techniques. Strong understanding of behavioral health issues, including mental health disorders and substance use challenges. Experience working with diverse populations in a supportive or mentoring capacity. Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally. Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively while demonstrating empathy and cultural competence. Relevant certifications or licenses in mental health counseling, social work, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory. This role is ideal for individuals committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward recovery while working within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
