Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Participant Service Mentor is a highly flexible, cross-functional role that provides support across Employment Services, Pre-Employment, and Youth Services. This position is designed to meet the changing needs of participants and programs, with staff regularly rotating between departments, environments, and age groups. This role may include job coaching at community work sites, supporting small group pre-employment programming, and assisting with youth services programming. The Participant Service Mentor works with individuals of varying ages and abilities to promote independence, build skills, and create meaningful community engagement opportunities. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to shift between programs and responsibilities on a daily basis are essential to success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Train, teach, and support participants in job tasks, daily living skills, and soft skills using structured teaching methods Promote independence while providing appropriate levels of support (1:1 and small groups) Support participants at community job sites, volunteer locations, and community activities Plan, lead, and participate in activities both in-house and in the community Redirect behaviors in a positive, respectful, and constructive manner Maintain awareness of participant strengths, needs, and goals to provide individualized support Assist in developing natural supports within workplaces and community settings Provide mobility training and encourage community engagement and exploration Help identify meaningful community resources and opportunities Support vocational and production-related tasks while maintaining quality standards when assigned Assist with personal cares as defined by participant plans (when applicable) Transport and accompany participants to job sites, activities, and community locations using company vehicles Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership, team members, families/guardians, and other stakeholders Complete required documentation including case notes, progress updates, and incident reports Report all significant issues (positive and negative) in a timely manner Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment Respond to emergencies and provide First Aid/CPR/AED as needed Report all accidents and incidents within required timeframes Maintain strict confidentiality of participant information Attend meetings and trainings as required Adapt to changing schedules, locations, and program needs Perform other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
Schedule varies daily based on program and participant needs May include daytime, evening, weekend, and after-school hours Staff may rotate between roles frequently, including job coaching, pre-employment programming, and youth services Work locations will vary between facilities and community-based settings Flexibility and adaptability to shifting assignments are required
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to operate company vehicles Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing environments and participant needs
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
