A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for a high school self-contained functional curriculum classroom. This position offers the rewarding opportunity to work alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, ensuring each student receives individualized guidance and care. Contract dates for this assignment run from August 4th, 2026 through May 26th, 2027, with the possibility of additional days for pre- and post-planning. Exceptional performance may lead to a contract extension for the following school year.

Requirements:

Active GaPSC Special Education Certification with content area coverage through 8th grade Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required (will strongly consider teachers with pending credentials) Experience working with lower functioning, self-contained classrooms preferred Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and related service providers Strong commitment to fostering independence and achievement in students with unique learning needs What you'll do: Deliver engaging instruction and individualized support to students in a functional curriculum program Partner with paraprofessionals and behavioral staff to implement IEPs and positive supports Develop lesson plans and materials tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings and family communications Adapt teaching strategies to help every learner realize their fullest potential Embark on a school year filled with meaningful moments and professional growth.
