EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Sweeps, scrubs, mops, buffs, waxes, polishes, scrapes, refinishes, and seals floors; Moves, arranges, and makes minor repairs to furniture, adjusting furniture upon request; dusts, washes, and polishes furniture, metalwork, and woodwork; and vacuums and shampoos rugs and carpets; Prepares auditoriums and classrooms for special events by assembling and arranging furniture and equipment; Empties and cleans waste receptacles; and picks up papers and cleans sidewalks; Replenishes restroom supplies; and cleans bowls, sinks, counters, shelves, mirrors, and light covers in restrooms, classrooms, and offices; Cleans stoves, refrigerators, and coffee machines; cleans drinking fountains and surrounding areas; cleans window coverings and erasers; and washes windows, walls, doors, and blackboards; Turns out lights and locks windows; unlocks and locks doors and gates; Changes light bulbs, tightens screws, and does other minor maintenance and repair; Sweeps sidewalks and rakes leaves; Sorts and stores supplies; Reports potential problems or damage to appropriate personnel; Paints small areas as assigned; cleans and seals bleachers in gym as assigned; Assists in the thorough cleaning and restoration of facilities during student vacation periods; Performs related work as required. There is a limited number of available assignments and selections will be made as needed. You must be available for the entire duration of the assignment. If you are absent or decline to stay for the hours scheduled for any given day, your summer work assignment is subject to termination. This is an extra hours opportunity and is subject to change based on department needs and cannot be guaranteed (not part of regular assignment). This opportunity has no impact on an employee's regular assignment or "reasonable assurance" to return to their regular assignment after summer.
