Systems Analyst Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level IT/Programmer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of COBOL programming , Linux , and Microsoft Windows environments, along with basic helpdesk support experience. Exposure to networking concepts is a plus. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in IT and programming while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and support legacy applications written in COBOL Provide first-level helpdesk support to internal users for hardware, software, and system issues (Windows/Linux) Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic issues on Linux and Windows servers Assist in maintaining and updating system documentation Collaborate with senior developers and IT staff on enhancements and bug fixes Perform routine system administration tasks and patch management Support onboarding of new users (hardware/software setup, account provisioning) Assist with basic network troubleshooting (IP configuration, connectivity, DNS, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Basic knowledge of COBOL programming Familiarity with Linux command line and file system structure Understanding of Microsoft Windows OS and common administrative tasks Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Preferred/Desired Skills:
Some exposure to networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) Experience with ticketing systems or IT service desk tools Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) is a plus Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
