No formal education required Job Summary DME Express is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Delivery Driver / Medical Equipment Technician to deliver and pick up durable medical equipment for hospice patients and healthcare facilities. The position is responsible for safely transporting, assembling, and setting up medical equipment while providing professional and compassionate service to patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in entering the healthcare or medical equipment field. No prior experience is required; DME Express will train the right candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver and pick up durable medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen equipment, and other medical equipment. Plan and follow daily delivery and pickup routes efficiently. Load, transport, assemble, and set up medical equipment at patient or facility locations. Provide patients and family members with basic instructions on the proper and safe use of equipment when applicable. Interact with patients, families, hospice personnel, and healthcare providers in a courteous, professional, and compassionate manner. Complete delivery and pickup documentation accurately using the company's mobile application. Clean, disinfect, and perform minor repairs or adjustments to medical equipment as needed. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and keep the warehouse and delivery vehicle clean and organized. Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety checks on the assigned vehicle. Follow applicable company, DOT, FDA, and safety requirements related to the transportation and handling of medical equipment. Assist other delivery drivers and team members as needed. Perform warehouse and office maintenance duties as assigned. Maintain a professional appearance and represent DME Express positively when interacting with patients and customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications No prior experience required; training will be provided. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to assemble and move medical equipment safely. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and healthcare professionals. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic smartphone/computer skills for completing delivery and pickup documentation. Must be willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as required. Work Environment This position involves working both in a warehouse environment and at patient or healthcare facility locations. Employees may work indoors and outdoors and may be required to lift, carry, assemble, and transport medical equipment. DME Express operates a 24/7 delivery and pickup service, so employees may be required to participate in predetermined rotating weekend and on-call schedules. Education No formal education requirement. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed. Ability to safely load and unload medical equipment from a company vehicle. Ability to work for extended periods while driving and performing deliveries.
