Flexible, based on delivery needs Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and professional Independent Contractor Pharmacy Delivery Driver to provide safe, timely, and confidential delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy-related items to patients, healthcare facilities, and other designated locations. The ideal contractor is dependable, customer-service oriented, organized, and able to maintain strict confidentiality when handling medications and patient information. Responsibilities Pick up prescription medications and pharmacy orders from designated pharmacy locations. Deliver medications safely and accurately to patients, healthcare facilities, assisted-living communities, and other authorized destinations. Verify delivery information and obtain signatures or other required confirmation when applicable. Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medications and patient information. Follow all applicable pharmacy, HIPAA/privacy, and delivery procedures. Communicate professionally with pharmacy staff, patients, caregivers, and facility personnel. Keep accurate delivery records and promptly report delivery issues, delays, damaged packages, or unsuccessful deliveries. Maintain a clean, safe, and reliable vehicle suitable for transporting pharmacy deliveries. Use a smartphone or delivery application for navigation, communication, and delivery documentation. Handle medications and packages carefully and prevent loss, theft, damage, or unauthorized access. Independent Contractor Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Current automobile insurance meeting applicable state requirements. Clean and safe driving record. Smartphone with reliable data service. Ability to pass any required background or motor vehicle checks. Professional appearance and courteous customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries efficiently. Must comply with all applicable laws and pharmacy/company policies regarding medication delivery and patient privacy. Preferred Qualifications Previous pharmacy, medical courier, prescription delivery, or healthcare delivery experience. Knowledge of local roads and surrounding service areas. Experience using GPS/navigation and delivery applications. Strong communication and organizational skills. Compensation Independent contractors are compensated per delivery, route, mileage, or according to the agreed contractor rate. Compensation structure and payment terms will be outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement. Important Contractor Information This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity , not an employee position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, vehicle expenses, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and other business-related expenses unless otherwise specified in the contractor agreement.
