Full-Time Position Summary The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for the safe loading, transport, and delivery of heavy rental equipment to and from customer job sites. Operating commercial motor vehicles (such as semi-tractors with lowboys, roll-backs, or flatbeds), this role serves as a key point of contact for customers. The focus is on strict DOT compliance, securing heavy loads correctly, and maintaining on-time delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy machinery (excavators, dozers, lifts) using chains, binders, and straps. Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip commercial vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure truck and trailer safety. Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and driving logs in strict compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Provide basic operational walkthroughs and safety briefings to customers upon equipment delivery. Obtain required customer signatures on delivery and pickup slips, documenting any pre-existing machine damage with photos. Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager.
Essential Skills and Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; active Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A required).
Experience:
3+ years of commercial driving experience, specifically hauling oversize or heavy equipment loads.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of DOT load securement regulations, heavy tie-down procedures, and permitting rules for oversize loads.
Core Skills:
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), current DOT Medical Card, and the ability to operate diverse heavy machinery for loading purposes.
Problem Solving:
Ability to navigate tight construction site entries and assess ground stability before unloading multi-ton equip
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
