  • Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved-vehicles.
  • Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
  • Ability to work with handicapped and the elderly
  • Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
  • Assists disabled and/or elderly residents in and out of vehicle and in and out of buildings and doctor's offices when appropriate.
  • Assists all departments in the delivery and pick-up of other related work items, i.e., x-rays, pharmaceuticals, medical records, mail drop off, etc. All documents will be maintained within HIPPA guidelines.
  • Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote a safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.
  • Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicle for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc. All other duties as assigned
  • Maintains TEXAS Driver License in good standing. Resident Rights
  • Assure that the residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Knock before entering a resident's room.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Educational Requirements:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, High School Diploma Working Conditions
  • Travels to/from local acute care hospitals, physician offices and other locations within the area.
  • Works on weekends and holidays, when necessary.
  • Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors and is exposed to dust, disinfectants, hazardous chemicals, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, or others.
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including Tuberculosis and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Good standing motor vehicle driving record, with no accidents or more than one moving violation in three years
