Job Description

Under the supervision of the Human Services Supervisor - Child Support, the Account Technician - Child Support performs a variety of accounting duties related to the Child Support Program and fiscal operation of the department. We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused professional who can effectively manage a caseload, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to a collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience in child support services, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, along with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Hours:
8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Outagamie County offers Benefit options and paid time off for team members that work 20+ or more hours per week.

These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Enters court orders for child support obligations in the State automated system. Contacts NCP requesting information to reconcile percentage orders. Computes arrearages and drafts court orders determining arrears. Explains financial computations to customers, attorneys and the courts; testifies in court as necessary. Enters adjustments to the State automated system as required by court and reconciliations. Issues wage withholding documents to employers. Reconciles the State automated system to the records provided by court and clients. Provides customer service to custodial and non-custodial parents, employers, and other HHS Divisions as needed. High school graduate or GED with additional training in accounting and bookkeeping. Associates Degree preferred. At least three years work experience in accounting including experience with automated systems. Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Knowledge of accounting and business mathematics. Knowledge of office procedures, grammar and spelling. Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and other department employees. Use sound judgment and make independent decisions. Follow written and oral instructions and interpret complex court orders. Maintain accurate records and prepare clear, concise reports. Ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability. Ability to walk, stoop, climb, bend, stretch; push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds, understanding and utilizing proper body mechanics.
