The Graduate Assistant is a member of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with program implementation, such as Fall Concert, off-campus trips, and on-campus events; risk-management assessment; adherence to University policies and procedures; financial management; and oversight of a comprehensive assessment plan. Responsibilities Work alongside professional staff to supervise and advise UPB's executive board, initiatives and programs, including, but not limited to: large-scale, collaborative, and on- and off- campus programs. Assist with the implementation of UPB programs and initiatives, including such tasks as: contract review, risk management assessment, financial management, and management of related online systems. Oversee a comprehensive assessment plan for UPB, focusing specifically on demographics, student satisfaction, goal achievement, and learning outcomes. Assist University Program Board members with adhering to University resources, policies, and procedures, including: Event and facility scheduling, funding and financial procedures, the Student Events Advisory Committee process, contract and risk management procedures, and event publicity. Maintain positive working relationships with campus partners from academic/administrative departments Meet with Assistant Director for Student Involvement weekly 1-1 Meet weekly with
UPB Leadership Team:
Chair, Assistant Director, & Manager Meet weekly with the UPB Executive team for event updates, recaps, and event approval (monthly) Support hiring processes and training for current and incoming Executive team Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs, services, experiences, and resources as determined by supervisor. Required Qualifications [Fully knowledgeable about the job; be able to handle responsibilities independently and effectively. Possess undergraduate degree in similar and/or related field.] Desired Qualifications Previous experience with event planning within higher education institutions Previous experience leading a team Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Humanity, Airtable, 25Live.
