Job Description

Dans Service Inc is a family owned and operated mechanical contractor specializing in installation, repair, and sales of air conditioning units, heating systems, ice machines, and refrigeration units. Over the past 35 years, we've taken a personal, customized design and installation approach with our commercial, industrial and residential customers. Office is located in Medford, MA. We are seeking a highly motivated HVAC Estimator to join our team. We have long-term staff that we treat like family. Average length of service is 15 years here.
Hours:
Mon-Fri 8-4 HVAC Estimator oversees the day-to-day execution and documentation of installation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves managing subcontractors, coordinating labor and materials, procuring equipment, and working closely with general contractors and other trades. Additionally, the Project Manager collaborates with the Install Manager to handle the financial planning, reporting, and analysis of each project. Qualifications Journeyman License strongly preferred Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Experience in the HVAC Mechanical Contracting industry highly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Procore Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with project management software tools and methodologies Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Perform material and labor take-offs and solicit supplier and subcontractor quotes
  • Analyze blueprints, drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walk and client consultations as needed.
  • Develop bid proposals, RFI's and scope clarifications.
  • Track and maintain data on pricing, labor productivity and historical cost.
  • Coordinate with project management and field teams during project turnover.
Manage all needs related to each contract including reviewing of contracts for scope, pulling permits, and providing insurance certificates Review and coordinate project scope with subcontractors Manage job procurement to include rough materials, equipment, spec compliance, and delivery management Select appropriate construction methods and teams for the job and budget Explain scope of work and technical information to field personnel Assist with layout and answer technical questions about job as needed. Manage financial aspects including reviewing budgets and estimates. Work closely to review invoicing for projects including AIA billing, progress billing, and project close out billing Manage and coordinate the workforce to include coordinating with the Install Manager and Foremen in scheduling of work and coordinating other trades in execution of each project Coordinate with the Foremen to ensure the safe execution of each project Communicate regularly with all parties both verbally and in writing, promptly responding to customer complaints and issues, while maintaining a positive relationship with all parties Direct labor cost management (tracking and analyzing labor productivity from project start to finish) Manage all RFls, Change Orders and other contract document changes that may occur during construction Ensure project completion, including start-up of all systems, and required proper close out documentation Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement Exhibit a willingness to communicate positively with Foremen and other staff Be available and willing to work overtime, as needed Provide effective feedback and guidance to Foreman to ensure their success and professional growth Work closely with the Install Manager, Foremen to promote learning and effectiveness regarding future and current projects Be available and willing to travel to assigned job sites Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as required Ensure projects meet or exceed code requirements for construction and safety We offer a great benefit package including Health & Dental, Paid Holidays, Vacation & Sick Time & 401K w/ match.
