Key Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education Prior experience with significantly disabled student populations (cognitive and physical) Comfort with providing toileting support and managing non-verbal communication needs Background working with students with autism and familiarity with applied behavior analysis is highly valued Experience delivering specially designed instruction targeting Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Collaborative mindset for working alongside RBT support and other professionals

Role Responsibilities:

Manage a substantially separate classroom for either K-1st grade or 3rd-5th grade students with severe disabilities Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet varied student needs, utilizing ABA techniques where appropriate Oversee daily routines, including personal care and toileting support as needed Develop and implement IEPs; monitor progress and document growth Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that encourages communication and independence, regardless of students' ability levels Imagine creating a classroom where every child's abilities are recognized and their needs met with compassion and skill.
