Set up new jobs within the accounting system, ensuring proper coding, budgets, and contract documentation. The construction project accountant will review owner contracts for billing requirements, retainage, change order language, payment terms, and compliance obligations. Prepare, review, and submit owner billings including: Progress Billings Time & Materials (T&M) Cost Plus Percentage of Completion Prepare and manage pay applications in accordance with contractual requirements. Prepare, review, and maintain Schedules of Values (SOVs) throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, supporting month-end financial reporting and project forecasting. Monitor project budgets and perform detailed job costing analysis to identify cost variances and profitability trends. Review project costs, committed costs, subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy. Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project financial performance, forecast costs, and maximize profitability. Project Accountant Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, NOT required 3+ years of Construction Project Accounting experience within commercial construction or a related industry.
