Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting students' success and well-being as a dedicated School Psychologist serving a thriving pre-K through 8th grade community. This full-time contract opportunity is based onsite at a single-school district, providing a tight-knit, collaborative environment and direct connection to students, educators, and families. You'll have a meaningful impact, working with approximately 700 students and making a daily difference through expert assessment and intervention. The hours are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, totaling approximately 32.5 paid hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive psychological services for students in grades PK-8 Conduct play-based assessments and use creative, evidence-based methods beyond traditional standardized batteries Assess student needs, support eligibility determination, and guide intervention planning Collaborate with educators, families, and other school-based professionals to create supportive learning environments Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, recommendations, and services provided Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
Qualifications:
Current Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist endorsement (IL PEL - School Psych Endorsement) Demonstrated experience with play-based assessment techniques Ability to utilize a diverse toolkit of assessment strategies for accurate, meaningful evaluations Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Prior experience in a school setting preferred This is an onsite-only role in a welcoming, student-centered school community.
