Boutique law firm headquartered in Southern California is seeking a bilingual legal assistant for our new office in Phoenix, AZ. We provide systematic and solid training to our supporting staffs. Major responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist attorneys with a broad range of immigration matters, including employment-based immigrant petitions (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4, EB-5 ), nonimmigrant work visas (H, L, E, R, O, P), family-based immigration, adjustment of status, consular processing, student and visitor visas, and naturalization applications. Assist attorneys with asylum applications, removal defense, immigration court proceedings, appeals, and motions to reopen or reconsider. Prepare immigration forms, petitions, applications, support letters, declarations, motions, exhibits, and filing packages for submission to USCIS, the Department of State, the Department of Labor, EOIR, and other government agencies. Communicate with individual and corporate clients to gather case information and supporting documents, explain filing requirements, provide case updates, and follow up on outstanding items. Review immigration forms and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable filing requirements. Maintain organized physical and electronic case files and monitor filing deadlines, visa expiration dates, priority dates, interviews, biometrics appointments, court hearings, and other case milestones. Conduct factual and legal research under attorney supervision and assist with client intake, document translation, correspondence, scheduling, and other case-related administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese is a must Excellent spoken and written communication skills At least 2 years of experience in immigration cases required Salary depends on experience.
