Lead DevOps Engineer - Hybrid#26-08305 Columbus, OH Irving, TX Charlotte, NC Onsite Contract Starts 8/13/2026 Ends 8/12/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH, Charlotte, NC, or Irving, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, cloud-native platforms that enable secure and efficient application delivery. This role focuses on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms, GitOps driven CI/CD workflows, and automation across OCP, Azure and GCP. The ideal candidate is passionate about developer enablement, infrastructure as code, and building resilient, self-service platforms using modern automation and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
Act as a hands-on DevOps and platform engineering expert driving DevOps transformation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and GitOps based delivery models Design and enable end-to-end DevOps workflows, integrating infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines (GitOps / GitHub Actions) to support microservices deployment at scale Automate microservices deployments across Kubernetes and OCP environments using Harness, reducing manual errors, and significantly improving release speed and reliability Implement GitOps workflows using declarative configurations and
JSON/YAML
based pipelines, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and auditability across environments Enable cloud-native platform delivery across Azure and GCP, aligning infrastructure, application deployment, and security controls through code Embed DevSecOps practices, observability, and pipeline instrumentation to improve visibility into pipeline performance, failures, and operational trends Develop automation and tooling using Python, integrating with CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment workflows Establish centralized version tracking and release visibility, improving governance, traceability, and consistency across global data centers and cloud platforms
Requirements:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or abination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education GitHub Actions experience Java builds experience (preferably Maven/Gradle) Deployment tool experience (preferably Harness) Python builds/CICD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment) Kubernetes/OCP experience Experience working in a large-scale regulated industry and exposed to DevOps in those organizations Desired skills: Automation frameworks (Ansible/Terraform PFE) AI agentic frameworks Kubernetes certification DevOps certification Bachelor's in Engineering/Computer Science Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
