Job Description

Senior Buyer We're searching for Senior Buyer to help lead procurement for a global, hands-on supply chain. You'll work directly with the Director of Supply Chain, handling day-to-day buying with real input on where the supply base goes next. What You'll Do Manage purchasing across a portfolio of 400+ active part numbers, balancing high-volume transactional buys with more strategic, engineered components Source and purchase components and materials from a mix of domestic and international suppliers, including active sourcing relationships in China Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify the existing supply base Negotiate contract terms with suppliers beyond standard purchase orders, including payment terms, delivery schedules, and pricing Manage vendor performance and resolve quality, delivery, or service issues as they come up Support make-versus-buy evaluations, weighing in-house production against outsourcing options Track and manage purchasing activity inside an ERP system, contributing to inventory and planning processes Partner with the Director of Supply Chain on sourcing strategy and supplier diversification, contributing to the plan rather than owning it solo Factor tariffs, duties, and international shipping considerations into sourcing decisions Build or contribute to tools and dashboards that improve visibility into purchasing and supply chain data What You Bring 6+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a bill-of-materials-based manufacturing environment; 10+ years preferred Experience sourcing internationally, ideally including direct experience with China, Japan, Germany, etc. Vendor management and contract negotiation experience that goes beyond routine purchase-order processing Experience with SAP or a comparable large ERP system Familiarity with inventory and planning KPIs such as Days Inventory Outstanding a plus Strong Excel skills; exposure to Python, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization and scripting tools a plus
