2nd Shift The Gatekeeper is responsible for overseeing the flow of materials entering and leaving the manufacturing plant. This role ensures materials are accurately received, inspected, recorded, and distributed to the appropriate departments while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Gatekeeper plays a key role in inventory management and contributes to efficient plant operations by ensuring material accuracy and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection Verify and inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and accuracy. Ensure materials meet company specifications and are free from damage. Record and document all incoming shipments accurately. Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the Supervisor. Inventory Management Monitor and track inventory levels using inventory management software. Resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with inventory control teams. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of materials. Conduct periodic inventory counts as required. Material Issuance and Distribution Manage the release of materials to production lines according to schedules. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to departments. Maintain documentation for all material movements. Documentation and Record Keeping Print labels for materials as needed Manage bill of ladings for inbound materials Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing materials. Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Utilize inventory management systems for tracking materials. Safety and Compliance Enforce safety protocols during material handling. Conduct regular safety checks and report hazards or concerns. Ensure materials are stored in safe and compliant conditions. Promote a
SAFETY-FIRST
culture. Communication and Coordination Communicate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations. Notify supervisors of potential material shortages or delays. Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams for timely deliveries. Gate Control Duties Authorize and document the movement of materials in and out of the plant. Prevent unauthorized removal of materials by verifying approvals. Maintain an accurate and secure gate log.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year experience in material control, warehouse, or logistics. Proficient with inventory management software and systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work in varied environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise). Commitment to safety and compliance standards. Flexibility to work weekends, nights, or overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds. Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Capability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
