Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, including assisted living facilities and inpatient environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism while assisting individuals with their daily activities. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly in Level II trauma centers, while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for patients. Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Perform basic medical tasks as needed, including phlebotomizing under supervision and utilizing Cerner for patient service documentation. Collaborate with nursing staff in the operating room (OR) setting when required, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Engage with patients to encourage participation in their care plans and rehabilitation activities. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques is essential. Familiarity with patient care protocols in assisted living or inpatient settings is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a Level II trauma center environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Certification in phlebotomy or willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
