Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under direction of the Supervising Special Investigator II (SSI II), Captain, Protective Services Branch (PSB), the Analyst II is responsible for maintaining the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) for the PSB. The position maintains the software that captures and reports criminal statistics for monthly submission to the California Department of Justice (DOJ). The position also maintains various Departmental publications and forms related to NIBRS. The Analyst II is also responsible for maintaining and managing the department's Records Management System (RMS). Including compiling, analyzing, and distributing data and reports, monitoring project status and deadlines, collaborating with teams to gather requirements, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting management with data-driven recommendations and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities involve managing reporting cycles, maintaining documentation, coordinating with communities, and often troubleshooting or training end-users on reporting systems. Assigns, deactivates, and updates user accounts to ensure appropriate security and user access. Additionally, the Analyst II is the Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) administrator and is responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of the CAD system, including providing user support and training, configuring the system to meet operational needs, and performing database management and reporting. They will also act as a liaison between departments and vendors, implement systems updates and changes, and ensure the system meets industry and departmental standards for reliable emergency communication. Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave. Work is performed in an open-spaced partitioned office environment. Permanent, Full Time Department Information Department of Developmental Services (Department) is a California state agency providing services and support to over 450,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, epilepsy, and related conditions. Within the Department, the Porterville Developmental Center (PDC) has been a cornerstone in providing compassionate care and support to just over 200 individuals with I/DD since 1953. As one of the main state-operated facilities under the Department, PDC offers 24-hour residential services for adults with serious medical or behavioral issues related to I/DD. Our mission is to deliver person-centered support through a dedicated interdisciplinary team, including physicians, psychologists, nurses, and more. We provide comprehensive services such as health care, education, work training, and preparation for independent living. PDC is licensed by the California Department of Public Health to offer general acute medical, skilled nursing, and intermediate care services. http://www.dds.ca.gov Special Requirements The Office of Protective Branch (PSB) is a Law Enforcement Agency. After the background check clears, the applicant will be appointed to the position. This background check includes interviews of employment and personal references; and FBI, California DOJ finger print clearances and DMV clearance(s).
