Job Description

Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings which include nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs. Support patients with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care as needed. Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient areas while adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Point Click Care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition. Participate in the development of individualized care plans for patients. Assist with medication administration as directed by licensed nursing staff. Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Long term care experience Assisted living or nursing home experience Working with people with developmental disabilities Hospice care Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and HIPAA regulations Experience in geriatrics is highly desirable. A strong understanding of physiology and anatomy will enhance your ability to provide high-quality patient service.
