Job Description
Position Summary:
The School of Health Professions at Long Island University seeks a licensed physical therapist or other doctorly-prepared health professional who have the needed expertise to teach specific courses within the DPT program. A doctoral degree is required and prior teaching experience is preferred. The program is housed on LIU's historic, 330-acre Brookville campus. Class schedule is somewhat flexible, depending on the specific course.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and teach assigned courses or serve as secondary lab instructor, depending on the needs of the program Utilize LIU's Learning Management System (LMS) to post required course materials Assess student learning and post course grades in a timely manner Mentor entry-level DPT students as needed Be available to meet with accreditation visitors, when requested
Qualifications:
An earned doctoral degree in one's professional discipline; Active license to practice physical therapy (or another health care discipline for specific courses such as Pharmacology) in the State of New York; Strong communication and teaching skills Ability to utilize basic computer technology in the classroom
