Lead Coach
Job Description
Overview The Lead Coach is responsible for leading by example and assisting in the training of all coaches in our chapter to guide and coach young people to become more confident, capable and resilient versions of themselves. Our chapter provides game changing programs in multiple environments such as schools, golf courses and indoor learning centers that the Lead Coach will lead or help train other coaches to lead. Experience Required Deep Commitment to the Mission of First Tee - Northern Michigan Passion for youth development Willingness to embrace the game of golf and the opportunities it provides Prior experience with sports and coaching Golf Instructions Credentions (PGA/LPGA) are a plus First Tee Coaching Experience is strongly encouraged. Essential Responsibilities Must be or become a First Tee Coach within the first 6 months and aspire to become Level 3 or higher. Commit to continuous learning and attend all required local and national coach training. Embrace First Tee coaching and youth development philosophy Become proficient in the creation and deliver of Lesson Plans Arrives for classes early directing and participating in a safe and engaging setup Assist in scheduling coaches and volunteers Treats home and participating facilities with respect Serves as a positive example and mentor to other coaches, volunteers and participants Conduct inventory and quality checks of all equipment and communicate needs accordingly Maintains and organizes equipment storage areas Keeps and reports accurate participant attendance records Networks with other chapter colleagues in the exchange of best practices Benefits golf privleges at Boyne Resorts discounted food at Boyne Resorts Reimbursement for approved expenses and mileage Uniforms Playing privleges at other area courses when set up for PGA ED, Kevin McKinley
