Special Education Teacher - Full-Time

Location:

Cedarhurst, NY

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, and diverse learning needs. The teacher will create a supportive classroom environment and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans and instructional modifications.

Implement classroom and behavior-management strategies.

Develop and monitor IEP goals and student progress.

Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, paraprofessionals, and families.

Maintain accurate student records and documentation.

Support students' academic, social, communication, and behavioral development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.

Valid NY State Special Education certification preferred/required as applicable.

Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly autism and developmental disabilities.

Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
