This full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher spans the academic year through June 11, 2027, with on-site responsibilities and a regular weekday schedule. The role is focused on guiding students across a range of disabilities, fostering their academic, social, and emotional success within a supportive school environment. Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher certification (required) Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred Background in teaching students with various disabilities Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum accordingly Commitment to fostering a supportive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students across a spectrum of disabilities in a resource or self-contained setting Develop and implement IEPs to address individual strengths and areas of need Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and maintain accurate documentation Work collaboratively with general education staff, support personnel, and families Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development Establish a positive rapport with students and manage behaviors proactively This role offers a consistent, Monday through Friday schedule (7.5 hours per day), allowing you to focus on supporting students and collaborating with a dedicated educational team.
