Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing essential healthcare support in a welcoming educational environment. This part-time contract opportunity is perfect for an LPN/LVN who is passionate about helping children succeed and thrive at school. The position specifically involves supporting a student with a tracheostomy, working closely with educational staff to ensure the students safety and wellbeing during afternoons throughout the academic year. Hours may increase as the students needs change.
What Were Looking For:
Current and valid Washington LPN certification or licensure Experience with tracheostomy care is essential Previous school nursing or pediatric experience preferred Strong communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school team Flexibility to adjust work schedule as the student's stamina and needs evolve
Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to a student with a tracheostomy for approximately one hour each afternoon onsite Monitor the students health status and provide interventions as required Collaborate with educators, parents, and medical staff to support the students care plan Maintain clear documentation in accordance with school and nursing standards Respond calmly and efficiently to medical emergencies related to the students condition Adapt support as the students stamina increases over the school year This role offers the unique satisfaction of fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment for a student, while providing professional fulfillment and schedule flexibility.
