Full-Time, 10-Month (2026-2027)
Position Summary:
The Full-Time Substitute Teacher (Floater) serves as an on-call educator within the school, supporting classroom instruction in the absence of regular teachers. The Floater maintains a consistent presence on campus, stepping into any classroom and subject as needed while upholding school policies, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring student safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher or school administration.
Deliver instruction across grade levels and content areas as needed.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Ensure continuity of instruction and classroom routines.
Provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
Supervise students during classroom and non-classroom activities (e.g., lunch, recess, transitions).
Manage classroom behavior and implement school-wide behavior expectations.
Assist with clerical or administrative tasks during non-assigned class periods.
Participate in professional development as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Valid Nevada Substitute Teaching License or ability to obtain one.
Ability to adapt to diverse classrooms and subject areas.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a K-12 educational setting.
Commitment to the mission and values of Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas.
Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment:
This is an in-person role on a CASLV school campus. This position operates in a standard classroom environment and school campus setting. The role requires mobility throughout the school, including classrooms, offices, playgrounds, and other areas.
