Job Title:
Apprentice Electrician - Recreation Center Remodel Job Description This role is electrical work on a recreation center remodel project, performing hands-on installation while guiding tasks independently after receiving initial instructions. The position focuses on light fixture installation, wire pulling, and conduit bending for a new structure within an active construction site. Responsibilities Perform light fixture installation in accordance with project specifications and electrical standards. Pull wire for new electrical circuits and systems throughout the recreation center remodel. Measure, bend, and install conduit to support new electrical infrastructure. Assist in building conduit systems for the new structure, ensuring accurate routing and secure installation. Work independently after receiving instructions, organizing daily tasks and prioritizing work to meet project deadlines. Follow all safety procedures and use required fall protection and equipment when working at heights or on lifts. Operate a boom lift when needed to access elevated work areas, adhering to all safety and certification requirements. Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to coordinate work in an active construction environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and used safely. Essential Skills 6-8 years of experience as an electrician at a minimum apprentice to journeyman level. Ability to work independently after receiving initial instructions. Proficiency in light fixture installation for commercial or institutional projects. Strong skills in wire pulling for new electrical installations. Proven experience in conduit bending and installation. Hands-on experience in construction environments performing electrical work. Apprentice TDLR qualification. Boom lift certification. Fall protection training and ability to use fall protection equipment correctly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience on remodel projects or work in occupied or semi-occupied facilities. Familiarity with electrical codes and best practices for commercial construction. Ability to read and follow basic instructions, plans, or layouts provided by supervisors. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Effective communication skills to coordinate with site personnel and other trades. Journeyman-level capability, even if a journeyman license is not currently required. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place on an active construction site for a recreation center remodel. The role involves physical, hands-on electrical work including light fixture installation, wire pulling, and conduit bending in a new structure. You will frequently work on ladders, scaffolding, or boom lifts and must use fall protection where required. The environment may include noise, dust, and varying weather conditions depending on the stage of construction. Standard construction attire and appropriate personal protective equipment, such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety footwear, are required at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
