About Quantum Construction Quantum is a growing, Indiana-based construction firm strategically located in Pittsboro, Indiana. We build relationships, communities, and careers. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer (Commercial and General Construction) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is a mix of office-based planning and field-based execution, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and owners to develop and execute detailed project plans, budgets, and construction schedules. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction work aligns with design specifications, industry standards, and all relevant safety and code regulations. Assist with the preparation of competitive project proposals , including scope development, quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and scheduling. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment. Track and report project performance metrics; identify potential delays or cost overruns and implement corrective actions when necessary. Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections to uphold strict standards of workmanship and material compliance. Maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation , including RFIs, change orders, as-built drawings, meeting minutes, submittals, and daily field reports. Provide technical guidance and support to field teams to resolve constructability issues and ensure efficient problem-solving. Support the management team in enforcing safety protocols and promoting a culture of job-site safety and accountability. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Civil and/or Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the construction industry. Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications . Expert level in Procore software. Proficiency in construction management software such as Wrike or equivalent platforms . Solid experience with Construction Scheduling . Familiarity with project scheduling tools (ex: Microsoft Project) and cost-control processes. Solid understanding of construction methods, building materials, and regulatory codes . Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse project stakeholders. Willingness to travel within and outside of Indiana , as required by project demands, and own reliable transportation .
