Transportation Planning & Design Dallas-UPDATED Overview As a Roadway Design Engineer, you'll apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of transportation projects under the guidance of senior engineers. You'll contribute to roadway and multimodal design development, ensure compliance with design standards, and begin taking ownership of assigned tasks while advancing your professional judgment and project experience. Responsibilities- Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal projects.
- Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance in design work.
- Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
- Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
- Assist in quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments or field questions. Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7-10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
- Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.
- This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
- While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
